Importance of Interpreting Findings of a Research Project Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Importance of Interpreting Findings of a Research Project When developing the results section of a research project, it is essential to remember that the findings of a study do not prove anything. The findings can only substantiate or reject the study’s hypothesis. However, interpreting the results aids the researcher to understand the problem and look at it from different aspects (Leedy & Ormrod 2015). Thus, it is possible for the scholar to examine the research problem, relate it to the findings and develop an explanation of the study questions. There is no point in surveying if one cannot interpret the results. Thus, without an interpretation, the researcher will not understand the study problem and meet the objectives. Additionally, an interpretation adds to the reliability and validity of the research. The purpose of the study should be to allow another reader to understand it. However, no one can trust the credibility of a survey that has no interpretation of the findings (Leedy & Ormrod 2015). The reader would not be able to tell whether or not the researcher could have made up the discoveries. Without an interpretation, it is also impossible to conclude if the results reject or confirm the study hypothesis. Therefore, an analysis of findings is crucial for the reliability and validity of the research project. Lastly, research is supposed to act as a foundation for further studies. However, without an interpretation, other researchers cannot use it as a basis for their inquiries (Leedy & Ormrod 2015). As a result, it will be impossible
