Lynching was the act of killing, normally by hanging, originating from the extrajudicial mass deed. The United States lynching took place after the American Civil War towards the end of the 1800s, the liberation of slaves, and principally from the end of 1800s up to the 1960s("About Lynching" 1). The practice occurred most often versus African American individuals in the Southern regions. Lynching took place most regularly from 1890 to through the 1920s, an era of the political conquest of the blacks by native whites with a climax in 1892 ("About Lynching" 1). It was frequent in the Old West, in which the targets were the men from the African-American community. It can also be seen that the conservative Democrats dominated the political atmosphere of most parts of the South. Lynching was a portion of the informal structure of the enactment of white control towards the end of the 19th century after the Reconstruction period ("About Lynching" 1). Furthermore, it was found out that the instances of lynching in the Southern regions were strongly linked to the economic tensions, even though the causal version of this relationship was uncertain. Also, the low prices of cotton, economic anxieties, and inflation were related to the higher rates of lynching.
