This site provides comprehensive wraparound services that include much more than just the mental health services. They assist with education, social services along with health services. CMSS implements a socialized community where immigrants can feel safe to interact with other refugees in a social environment. The facility’s health program provides a complete assessment on torture symptom screening that builds on the assessments for treating torture and PTSD. Part 2 CMSS complies with San Diego County’s Behavioral Health services Competency Plan. This plan ensures that assistance is culture specific. Immigrants with a Torture or PTSD diagnosis include regular meetings with a therapist and medication if necessary, prescribed by an in-house psychologist. The agency validates the success by analyzing the behavior through a detailed assessment before and after the intervention. At CMSS, they cover every facet of the immigrant’s health. This holistic therapy process provides a healing community where the immigrants and their families can find encouragement on the road to self-determination and therefore control over their lives.
