Inclusion: Dance and Theater in Disabled Youth

Introduction

Constitution of the Dominican Republic, from the point of view of constitutional criteria, equality, inclusion and non -discrimination are constitutional guarantees, which cross transversely with fundamental rights, contained in international conventions and treaties on the rights of peoplewith disabilities. In this sense, articles 39 and 58 of our Constitution are specifically pronounced on equality and non -discrimination: a) Article 39.- Equality right. All people are born free and equal to the law, receive the same protection and treatment of institutions.

Developing

Authorities and other people and enjoy the same rights, freedoms and opportunities, without any discrimination for reasons of gender, color, age, disability, nationality, family ties, language, religion, political or philosophical opinion, social or personal status. Consequently. The Republic condemns any privilege and situation that tends to break the equality of the Dominicans and the Dominicans, among whom there must be no other differences than those that result from their talents or their virtues;The State must promote legal and administrative conditions so that equality will be real and effective.

The State will promote, protect and ensure the enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms of people with disabilities, in conditions of equality, to promote their family, community, social, labor, economic, cultural and political integration.”Law no. 5-13, organic about equal rights of persons with disabilities: it establishes a series of state obligations aimed at ensuring equality and equity for people with disabilities.

The governing body responsible for the issue of disability in the Dominican Republic is the National Council of Disability, Conadis, where its provisions emanate from Law No. 5-13, which establishes non-discrimination due to disability, defining it as any distinction, exclusion or restriction for disability reasons that have the purpose or the effect of hindering or improving recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on equal terms, of all human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural, civil or other spheres, so it is accepted at the beginning of equality and non -discrimination.

Within its approaches that there must be no discrimination based on reasons for race, color, sex, age, languages, thought, conscience, religion, beliefs, culture, political or other opinion, economic position, social, ethnic or ethnic origin orNational, disability, disease, birth, at risk or any other condition of the child or adolescent of their parents, representatives or responsible or their relatives. The Dominican Orchestral Theater arises from the desire of the President of the Dominican Republic, with the interest in creating a space through the Ministry of Culture.

The Dominican Orchestral Theater already up to several years provides quality from its foundation.

Carrying joy and color in each scenario that arise. A door that opened to show all the magic and talent that people have with a disability condition that did not prevent him from being part of this institution since its foundation. We have had vast experience with artists, in a general sense that they entered the Orchestral Theater, which come from families where they sometimes do not accept the disability of their children and brother, being amazed with the demonstration on stage. Each of those who are part of this project strive to have good performance.

Demonstrating passion in the displacements they perform in the musical pieces, in any discipline that has the ability to perform. The platform, belonging to the Ministry of Culture, becomes a blessing in the lives of people with disabilities, since their physical condition has not forbidden him to fulfill his dream of participating in the scenarios. There is testimony that drive us to move on, as I thought I could not achieve it for my physical condition. But when I started it was well received by my colleagues, who also have special conditions, by my teachers and the entire administration. 

With a big smile, as a form of expression of each of these people, they make us beautiful stories and while a little nervous, how it has been of great blessing that has been for her to get to the theater. This program has been very helpful for us. This is a great opportunity, they express, that we value a lot, of which the President of the Republic, through the Ministry of Culture, continues to create these programs so that people like us have a space that allows us to demonstrate our talent and serve ourcountry, since we are part of this society ". The Dominican Orchestral Theater is integrated by one hundred and seventy -two people with disabilities. 

It joins the artistic disciplines of theater, song, dance, folklore, plastic arts and percussion, under the direction of the playwright Elizabeth Ovalle. This group has impacted the lives of other members throughout the field. The Program of the Ministry of Culture aims to direct and provide equal opportunities to people with limitations to train them in the artistic-cultural field. This celebrated its fifth anniversary with a great show, entitled "Pyramids 179", in the Máximo Avilés Blonda room of the Palace of Fine Arts of the Dominican Republic. When we commemorate another year of this company, a great proposal was prepared, where they are interpreted by people with disabilities.

In its different artistic discipline, it highlights the contradictions that occur due to this division of the Spanish island, which does not respond to ethnic reality or geographical place, but to a division of human beings. In the theatrical piece the message is emphasized that the brotherhood is what should prevail in the nations, said the playwright and director of the Dominican Orchestral Theater, and dedicated teacher Ovalle. It is an initiative that integrates the cultural and community socio of children and young people from seven to seventeen years resident in vulnerable communities, through free training in music workshops, literature, painting, dance, theater and puppets. 

Its implement. This program contributes to mitigating violence and crime, strengthens the family, guarantees the growth in values of its members and transforms the lives of these future artists, all this within the framework of the state policy of inclusion and development of the Dominican government. The general objective, discover, enhance and develop aesthetic, artistic, emotional, intellectual aspects of children and adolescents.

Strengthening the affective and communicative links that guarantee the inclusion of the family and community. Specific objectives come to enhance artistic skills and contribute to the sociocultural and community integration of children and young people through dance. As a primary basis for the development of art and cultural, as well as introducing the basic notions that are used in these artistic expressions to apply them in a practical sense. It is interesting to highlight a general overview, experientially, about the implications that these activities have to incorporate in the school and in everyday life, as motivation and liberal bad habit of adolescents. 

Motivate, involve and guide children and adolescents with body expressiveness and harmonious use of movements and space;The melodic, rhythmic and harmonic domain through dance and the use of your body. Development in the skills to use and develop techniques, volumes and forms;and the channeling and expression of feelings, gestures and emotions, in order to awaken and develop creativity and imagination. Provide environmental decoding tools promoting artistic-cultural activities critically and participatory, favoring the construction of a more tolerant society. Promote, through dance, self-discovery and self – esteem that stimulates the construction of a life project.

The objectives of the transversal axes present the work plans in the different disciplines, in this case we will only focus on dance, as a topic that concerns us, with the interest of developing dance and creative, teach composition and improvisation ofContemporary dance, linking the development of children and adolescents between 7 and 17 years, already literate with individual and collective artistic sensibility, regardless of the type of disability they may have;as well as promoting personal growth through exercises that stimulate imagination, relationship with their own body and confidence in the group and society.
