Human and indigenous rights

To begin this report I will begin by briefly describing that they are the original peoples. The native or native peoples are those villages of antiquity that are not only defined by their language, or history, but also based on their DNA. They are a group people who come from pre -Columbian cultures and that have various components that distinguish them from the rest of the population, in addition to their genetics, they include cultural differences totally different from the western. Indigenous peoples have existed from the beginning of humanity, were the first to deal with the earth and for that reason they should have their most insured rights than none of us. The problem is that their rights are not respected despite everything mentioned above. The regulation for the exploitation of natural resources in their territories, has had little or no regulation by the authorities, in addition to having a minimum representation in the National Congress.

On the other hand, a worrying issue is the discrimination that exists to indigenous peoples given by poverty, exclusion and institutional and cultural elements given in this free market economic system.

In an important part it has been based on the exploitation of natural resources for export to global markets, that is, giving null protection to the lands that have been of these peoples many years ago.

Now the question is why, despite how important our native peoples are not protected or respected as their rights are respected?

Although the rights to the native peoples are written have never been fulfilled, historical injustices and inequalities have been suffered as a result, among other things, colonization and having been dispossessed of their lands and natural resources, which has prevented them from exercising withSovereignty their right to development with their own individual needs as indigenous and resources, the privilege of usurping the lands that for decades have been of our indigenous peoples have been given to private entities. According to (UN, 2015) “ It is affirmed in the writings that indigenous peoples are entitled, as a people or as persons, to the full enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms recognized by the Charter of the United Nations, the Universal DeclarationHuman Rights and International Regulations for Human Rights.’’

The fact that neither the authorities or the government on duty respect the rights of indigenous peoples, responding with increasing strength and repression is another alert that makes us see that here is a problem of many years ago that is not only in what” territorial ”, but also lies in the violence of discrimination and inequality suffered by the natives. It cannot be that so many years have passed and conflicts remain permanently over time, without real solutions.

For these reasons, the human rights of indigenous people in Chile are not fulfilled. To all this Chile is one of the most backward countries in the field of indigenous peoples. We live in a political context that has always been against the different, of the diverse, has always responded with military force instead of giving a real solution to the problem.

As regards the occupation of their land by private investors, in particular the property of the land, the waters and the resources of the subsoil, at the expense of the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities that inhabitIn them.

Likewise, discrimination and inequality in the field of economic and health and education rights of these peoples is also a serious problem, there is a marked income gap between indigenous and non -indigenous people that should not exist.
