Early Childhood Education: The importance of visibility for good protection

The school has always been an area closely related to the family, society and the chances of finding work. Therefore it is essential that the school provide knowledge with the objective of creating a culture between people and preparing better to get a job in the future and also teach values, norms and habits, which are the basis for a good education and to introduce usIn the society in which we live. Then I will explain the social functions that school has and how we can apply each of them in early childhood education.

The school aims to form citizen and for this socialization is necessary, since we cannot forget that this is the process through which human beings learn and internalize the norms of a society and culture and is necessary to survive. The education system can ensure social continuity or promote social change. The school is a primary agent in the socialization of individuals, adapts on the one hand to individuals to the group and on the other hand it exercises social control by teaching them basic norms of social behavior, with the aim of creating a political and symbolic community.

Another of its functions is the preparation for work must form disciplined students who are prepared to face the work world. Previously there was an initial socialization, there were no schedules and therefore they were not so socialized to start in the world of work. Today, this function can be faced from two positions: on the one hand it can be understood as the education system makes a social selection, choosing those who acquire the basic and instrumental skills or to those who obtain scientific knowledge, that is, the effort is efforttranslate only into success. On the other hand it can be understood as the educational system must ensure equal opportunities, decreasing social differences.

In the early children, many times parents cannot take care of them because they work and have no one to leave them with. Therefore, the school exercises the function of guard and custody, which in addition to keeping the children busy while their parents are working introduces the child in their first stage of socialization. A very clear example is the nurseries. His increase is related to the incorporation of women to work and the great importance of education over younger children.

In the document: ¨ Childhood education in European perspective¨ Immaculate Meguegado addresses the issue of children’s rights, specifically the right to education, this explains the great importance of education in the first years of life for allHumans. There are many reasons that make this educational stage so relevant in the child’s life and this has demonstrated different branches of knowledge such as neuroscience, psychology, sociology or economy. Therefore, throughout the document explains how each of the functions of the school in Early Childhood Education are specified.

At the beginning of the document, it states that education in the first stage is as important for the person as for society. From the individual point of view, much of the cognitive, sensory or psychomotor development occurs from an early age. This development depends on the child’s abilities to interact with the environment, therefore, an adequate education will have benefits on it here is reflected the function of the school of training citizens and preparing them for the socialization process. Specifically, the child education stage must achieve the child’s development in all aspects, getting it motivated while learning. He also explains that early childhood education has been incorporated as compulsory education due to great relevance that has in human development.

Megado shows us several examples in which we clearly see the function of the school to promote equal opportunities and eliminate social inequalities, since early childhood education generates benefits for the economy and for equity. The first example is that the existence of institutions dedicated to early childhood education has facilitated the incorporation of women in the workplace, facilitating women and men to access that work.

It also shows us that this educational level is where there are more differences between countries and regions, therefore we try to achieve equity and social cohesion for this to change.

Following in this same function of the school he addresses the issue that most educators are men. However, men working on education are an example for other parents and explains that the coexistence of women and men in this area also generates the possibility that some can learn from others.

As a last example, he states that early childhood education is also a current issue in educational policies, since more and more reforms are made in this educational stage. Some want to take measures to improve child care services, while others prefer to increase the number of places and that access to them is easier, generating equal opportunities, so that everyone has access to studies

In conclusion, it is necessary that we know the functions that the school has about society but above all, as future professors of Infant Education we must know the great relevance that our work will have on the development of children and the benefits that we can cause inthey. This educational stage is necessary for children to achieve good development in all aspects . In it they will begin to develop cognitive, but above all social and emotional skills, when entering the world of socialization and interacting with children of the same age.
