Reading is fascinating, it is a safe door towards knowledge and ingenuity. This is wonderful, however, making the habit of reading is not easy, because it requires three resources that are notoriously scarce in these modern times: silence, time and space. In addition, the appropriate tools have not been given since the first years of life, so that they make the habit of a practice, which will only offer invaluable benefits.
In this era, it is very important to read and have a critical thinking to understand what is read, because the information flows rapidly in large quantity, and demands a rapid understanding. Therefore, learn to read and understand what has been read, is one of the challenges we all have in these modern times.
But achieving this is not a simple task, so certain strategies can be followed, such as: Read. If we want to motivate children to read, we must also do it, because they learn by example. When reading you must share the experiences of what has been learned around readings and in turn encourage students to socialize around their readings, so that it is not seen as a solo leisure form, moreover, an excursion could be doneto a park or a university library, so that reading feeds its imagination and is more exciting.
Another strategy that can be done is to listen to audiobooks, they could count as reading, because through them vocabulary is acquired, and uses understanding skills. It is important that the student can connect reading with other topics. As trainers, you should help the student can make these connections, you have to help them see the context beyond, to improve their appreciation. Teachers must also know the specific needs in certain populations, in order to provide attention to the most vulnerable populations.
The child should be given freedom of choice, so that he selects the books he wants to read, without imposing reading, playing with the reward to encourage reading. Establish a daily routine, looking for a specific space and time so that the child can devote themselves to reading, such as before going to sleep, getting involved in their readings to encourage them to continue doing so and also strengthen affective links.On the other hand, all teachers, in each area of knowledge, must be responsible for teaching their students to read. Nobody will like to read if they have trouble doing.
In short, reading implies reasoning, creating and allows us. For all this, reading is fundamental, and something worth growing and developing since the first years and throughout our lives, overcoming the obstacles that the current life of life can provide.
