In the recent past, many US states have enacted policies to allow women seek such critical reproductive health decisions from approved medical facilities. One of the articles that take into consideration the topic in question is Melanie Guldi’s, "Fertility Effects of Abortion and Birth Control Pill Access for Minors.” Another article is Margaret Sanger, "Birth Control or Abortion?’ which takes into account essential arguments why both are necessary as much as they are unacceptable. Melanie Guldi’s Article Purpose The article was mainly focused on investigating the effect legalization of abortion and birth control pills access had on young women’s birth rate. Thesis Statement Following the legalization of abortion and birth control pills access in some US states, birth rates in young women declined significantly. Supporting Details Based on the data analysed, it was established that among the whites, minors access to birth control pills and abortion legalization was associated with significant decline in birth rates. Specifically, while pill access led to an 8.5% decline, abortion legalization resulted in a 10% drop in birth rates (Melanie 822).
